Volunteer at the Hays County Performing Arts Center

The Hays CISD Performing Arts Center (PAC) is a magnificent facility located in the heart of the school district, boasting a capacity of nearly 1000 people in the auditorium, a state-of-the-art sound and video system, and two conference and meeting rooms. The PAC serves as the stage for a series of school district and campus events and performances, as well as being available for rent to the community and outside organizations. If you are an organization or artist looking to showcase your work of art at the Hays County Government Center, you must submit a proposal to the Arts Committee. The works of art must be appropriate for an office environment and for public officials, county employees, and citizens who carry out business transactions in the building to view.

The Arts Committee may reschedule or cancel an exhibition at any time before its start date. If a complaint is received stating that a particular work of art is mocking, vulgar, appalling, or offensive to visitors, the Arts Committee will review it and make a decision to move or remove it. The Hays County fine art insurance policy covers works of art lent to the county for display while on the premises under the care of county staff. The lender is responsible for all aspects of a transaction to sell works of art that are displayed at the Hays County Government Center.

Works of art that are exhibited at the Hays County Government Center during an exhibition will remain in place until the end of the exhibition, unless the Arts Committee approves their early removal. If approved in writing by the building manager, the Arts Committee may allow a lender to install the exhibition under their supervision or provide at least one person to assist in its installation. The County will take all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of the works of art on loan to them, but is not responsible for damage or theft, except in cases covered by the Fine Arts insurance policy. Are you looking for ways to get involved with the Hays County Performing Arts Center? If so, you may be able to join a selection panel appointed by the Arts Committee.

This panel may include county staff and community representatives who will help decide which exhibitions are suitable for display at the Hays County Government Center. If you are interested in volunteering your time and expertise, contact your local county office for more information.
